Biography

MURASHITA is the solo project of Japanese guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Masaki Murashita, known for his aggressive riffs, powerful vocals, and uncompromising approach to heavy metal.

Murashita first gained international recognition as the founder and frontman of the Arizona-based thrash metal band HEMOPTYSIS, whose 2011 album “Misanthropic Slaughter” received critical acclaim.

Following HEMOPTYSIS, he launched his solo project MURASHITA, releasing the EP “Inescapable Damnation” in 2015 and continuing with singles including “Depraved Sanctity” and “I’m Not Done Yet.”

Beyond music, Murashita is also the president of a precision sheet metal manufacturing company in Japan. His unique background has inspired “Heavy Metal × Sheet Metal,” a creative concept that merges his passion for extreme music with the world of industrial manufacturing.

In 2026, MURASHITA reunited with director Matt Zane to film the music video for “Tolerance Zero,” combining performances shot in Los Angeles with industrial footage captured in Japan.

Mixed by Ryan Greene (Megadeth) and mastered by Gene Grimaldi (Dokken, Machine Head), the upcoming single represents the next chapter in MURASHITA’s musical journey.

“With outstanding guitar work, great lyrics and a complete lack of conformity to industry expectations, “Inescapable Damnation” is a metal manifestation.”

– Full Metal Rock

“…There’s a thrash backbone in “Inescapable Damnation”, and Murashita has concocted riffs that not only get the adrenaline flowing and the blood pumping but also exude a sensation of grim menace — a sensation that’s magnified by the ravenous ferocity of his snarling voice. But there’s still more to this attention-grabbing song: It includes a guitar solo that reflects great melodic sensibility, in addition to physical dexterity; it’s a reminder that memorable soloing is about more than how fast you can shred…”

– No Clean Singing

“…Masaki brings his lead guitar and scorching vocals back to the forefront with his solo debut and I am left completely jubilant at what I’ve been listening to…” Rated 5/5
